The craziness of SUMMER and trying to find my balance.

Here I am again, stuck in the whirlwind of working at an office, running my little art biz, and trying to cram pack my love for the outdoors all in three months. Year after year I tell myself to slow down, don't overbook my calendar, and prioritize my art. Every year, it is rush, rush rush to try to get as much hiking and outdoor activities as I can fit in our little window here in the PNW. You see, we don't get a ton of nice weather around here and when the sun is out, I want to be outside in it too. I have a hard time in the summer finding my balance.

Here are two little originals I made a couple of weeks ago, and I just love how they turned out! They both sold right away on my Facebook business page. (Oh, and if you are interested in getting first dibs on my originals, I often post them on there first before adding to my ETSY shop.)

Dan and I have been out all summer biking, walking, running, and hiking. We just returned last week from a four day backpacking trip in the Cascades. I never really had a love of the outdoors/nature until I was in my late 20's or early 30's, but now I feel like my soul needs it.

Every weekend of our summer has been booked, and that is WITHOUT doing art festivals this year. (We took this year off again as things just seemed weird with the pandemic, and I am so glad we did!) It's only halfway through August and we have two major trips coming up. Yikes! We decided this past weekend to STOP, take a mental health weekend and just RELAX! It was wonderful!

Art Therapy Journaling

We had such a wonderful weekend of doing nothing and stopping to come up from air in our busy life. Don't get me wrong, I love my life so much and am so grateful for all the things I get to do and see! I just wish I had more time in the summer to do all the things I love! I feel like art always falls to the back burner when the sun is out.

Oh, but I do have one announcement to make....I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON A HOLIDAY GIFT THAT IS GOING TO BLOW YOUR MIND!!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO SHARE THE DETAILS WITH YOU!!!

Xoxo,

Carla
